Lauragh to Kenmore
The hike for this section has a nice mix of back lane walking, hill climbing, and scrambling. The vistas from the hilltops are spectacular, the Uragh Standing Stones give a flavor of the ancient, the view of the waterfalls of Gleninchaquin Park are inspiring, and the lane walk through a charming Irish neighborhood gives a real taste of local life and the Irish passion for the garden. Coming into what seems like a city after days of village life makes Kenmore even more inviting. This is where I saw my first hen party...the ladies dressed in their fine clothes and whimsical hats out celebrating the upcoming wedding of their friend. Adding a vist to the Aran Sweater Market or lunch in one of the cozy pubs or excellent cafes and restaurants will make Kenmare a favorite. 24 km
